Strand-Veld Hiking Club
Program for 2010

The Following program has been set out for 2010. We will start off early (07H00) during the Summer months and a little later 08H00 during the Winter months. Membership Fees will be R50.00 for new members and Free for existing members. Costs per hike will either go towards fuel expenses or entrance fees. Also bring some extra money in case costs are higher than anticipated or when we stop for refreshments en-route etc. Please also bring correct amounts as change are not easily available.

Sat 6 February: Pearly Beach to Buffeljagsbaai. The leader for the day will be Roelof Diener- 082 552 5444. This is an easy but fairly long distance walk all along the coast. Please bring enough fluids and something to eat. Cost will be R30.00 per person. We will start at 07H00 at the Info Buro at Gansbaai Spar Centre

Sat 06 March: Pearly Beach to Uilenkraalsmond. Another easy coastal walk. Ideal for all to join in, even if you are not fit. Jill Horton - 028 384 2101 will be the leader. Cost will be R20.00 per person. We will start at 07H00 at the Info Buro at Gansbaai Spar Centre.

Sat 3 April: Easter Hike. David Privett will lead the hike in the Mount Dyer area.

Sat 1 May: Hike on the farm, Boskloof to Akkedisberg Peak, near Stanford. Remember a warm jacket, as it can get chily at the highest point. Elzanne Steynberg will be the leader -028 341 0436. Cost will be R30.00 per person. We will start at 08H00 at the Info Buro at Gansbaai Spar Centre.

Sat 5 June: David Privett 079 410 1342/028 384 0820 will lead the hike in the Flower Valley area. Cost will be R20.00 per person. We will start at 08H00 at the Info Buro at Gansbaai Spar Centre.

Sat 26 June: Fees Van die Ganse Hike in the Duynefontein Mountains. David Privett 079 410 1342/028 384 0820 will lead the hike. We will start at 08H00 at the Info Buro at Gansbaai Spar Centre. The cost will be R20.00 per person and fees will go towards funds for the Tourism Buro.

Sat 3 July : No Hike due to Festival hike the previous Saturday.

Sat 7 Aug: Van Brakel's Store to the Teslaarsdal area. The leader for the day will be Martin Du Plessis. - 084 831 5537. Cost will be R40.00 per person. We will start at 08H00 at the Info Buro at Gansbaai Spar Centre.

Sat 4 Sept: Salmonsdam Nature Reserve. The ideal time of the year to enjoy the flower season in this beautiful reserve. The leader for the day will be Elsa Gebhard – 028 341 0499. Entrance R30.00 per person and Fuel costs will be R30.00 per person. We will start at 07H00 at the Info Buro at Gansbaai Spar Centre.

Sat 2 Oct: Pig’s Snout (Vark se Snoet) near Hermanus. Elzanne Steynberg -028 341 0436 will be the leader. Cost will be R30.00 per person. We will start at 07H00 at the Info Buro at Gansbaai Spar Centre.

Sat 6 Nov: Danger Point to Kleinbaai. Coastal Hike. Jackie Le Roux -028 384 0499 will be the leader for the day. Cost will be R10.00 per person. We will start at 07H00 at the Info Buro at Gansbaai Spar Centre.

Sat 4 Dec: Year End Hike. Roelof Diener will be the leader. 082 552 5444. Cost will be R10.00 per person. We will start at 07H00 at the Info Buro at Gansbaai Spar Centre.
